The Mongolian
Altai Inventory and Mapping Project is based on
fifteen years of field research in mountainous Bayan Ölgiy
aimag, northwestern Mongolia. It is dedicated to the identification
and recording of all significant concentrations of surface archaeology
in that region and to the analysis of their typologies, probable
chronologies, and interconnection with the larger landscape.
This products of this effort are Archaeology and Landscape in the Mongolian Altai: An Atlas [ESRI Press], and an interactive website
