The UOregon App is managed by the Location Innovation Lab organized under Safety and Risk Services.

Originally developed when the Campus GIS and Mapping Program was housed in the InfoGraphics Lab, these apps for mobile devices were developed using Esri’s Runtime SDKs. The seeds for the apps were sown from a collaboration between our Lab, faculty, and student researchers in the PPPM and ENVS department, and a grant from NITC. The UOregon application received the 2011 Special Achievement in GIS Award from for its innovations in mobile mapping technology.

Drawing directly from campus GIS data, the original UOregon app routed you around campus, located any room, helped find classes, activities, events and other items of interest. In Version 2, users could search library books and map them to the exact shelf or take custom tours around campus.
